… Per il tempo ed il periodo in cui visse e studi\u00f2 Tommaso Cornelio, non fu soltanto un medico. Per quei tempi la costruzione scientifica del pensiero, prevedeva quasi in implicito, l\u2019estensione a tutte le branche dello scibile umano e ci\u00f2 non era dettato solo da una moda o dal consenso che se ne poteva trarre, ma dal desiderio dello studioso di voler espandere la conoscenza oltre un limite imposto. Fu cos\u00ec medico, matematico e filosofo, divenendo in quei suoi settant\u2019anni di vita un\u2019eminenza e punto di riferimento per le accademie. Acquis\u00ec e svilupp\u00f2 (anche in silenzio) le teorie galileiane e seppe usarle come strumento per\u00a0\u00a0 affrontare il pensiero di Campanella. Il canone platonico seppe infondergli i cardini del ragionamento e della logica che esprimeva con convinzione e ragione. Nel suo capolavoro Progymnasmata physica<\/i>, del quale abbiamo una copia data alle stampe dopo la sua morte nel 1688, si esprimono quasi tutti gli ambiti di indagine scientifica, percorsi dal Cornelio\u00a0 …<\/p>\n
