Ischia e la Coppa di Nestore<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

… Lo scavo della Tomba della Coppa di Nestore ha posto diversi problemi interpretativi poich\u00e9 il suo tumulus (tumulo funerario) fu interamente demolito da tombe successive. Buchner non nascose i suoi dubbi su come avrebbe dovuto essere interpretato il complesso funerario. La difficolt\u00e0 del compito fu ulteriormente aggravata perch\u00e9 l\u2019indagine fu condotta in due stagioni separate, nell\u2019ottobre 1954 e nel giugno 1955. Nella prima stagione, come si deduce dal diario di scavo, Buchner design\u00f2 come Cremazione 168 una grande \u201clente di terra nera\u201d, uno strato (3,80×2 m) contenente ceneri e ossa raccolte nella pira funeraria insieme ai corredi della tomba. Lo scavo della \u201clente di terra nera\u201d rivel\u00f2 tre depressioni del fondo, circostanza che port\u00f2 Buchner, in prima istanza, all\u2019ipotesi che appartenessero a tre cremazioni originariamente distinte. Lui precis\u00f2 che, quando scav\u00f2 la \u201clente di terra nera\u201d, era impossibile distinguere i materiali dalla loro disposizione e, inoltre, i frammenti della Coppa di Nestore erano sparsi attraverso la \u201clente di terra nera\u201d …<\/p>\n
