Nicola Mar\u00eda de Guzm\u00e1n Carafa, duca di Sabbioneta e ultimo Principe di Stigliano, figlio di Ramiro Felipe N\u00fa\u00f1ez de Guzm\u00e1n, Vicer\u00e8 di Napoli dal 12 novembre 1637, al 6 marzo 1644.<\/p>\n<p>Attorno alla figura del nostro Don Nicola Maria, ruotano le vicende di questo breve contributo storico. Egli fu anche barone di Torre del Greco, Res\u00ecna, Portici e Cremano e grazie a Dio non ebbe eredi diretti e fu cos\u00ec che per una sorta di naturale giustizia, il Regio Fisco di Napoli, pretese ed ottenne tutti i suoi averi, che furono acquisiti dalla Regia Corte. Inimmaginabile la reazione della consorte Maria de Toledo y Velasco, la quale tent\u00f2 tutte le strategie, per riappropriarsi dei beni perduti, ricorrendo alla corruzione di notai.<\/p>\n<p>Sappiamo che nei mesi successivi al decesso, la stessa Regia Corte, avvi\u00f2 le pratiche per stimare il valore economico di questo vastissimo territorio vesuviano e l\u2019\u201dapprezzo\u201d, fu indirizzato alla vendita degli stessi beni. La stima reale, economica, di questi vasti possedimenti del Carafa fu affidata al Reggiano e Gallucci, addetti ai Regi Tavolari, che stilata la relazione conclusiva, la depositarono il 24 di marzo 1691, con aver dato anche un prezzo alla mastrodattia2, che all\u2019epoca era l\u2019atto pubblico e privato che nel Regno di Napoli, consentiva la redazione e custodia ufficiale del manoscritto. Nel documento inoltre vennero dettagliati anche i possedimenti relativi alle coste, allo Jus Plateatico, allo Jus prohibendi del vino, alla gabella della farina, Palazzo Baronale. La somma finale fu stimata in seimila cento ducati.<\/p>\n<p>Con questi documenti di stima, nel 1695. Il Conte di S. Stefano D. Ludovico de la Gerda e il Duca Medina Coeli e Vicer\u00e9 del Regno vendettero queste propriet\u00e0 a D. Maria di Toledo Velasco Principessa di Stigliano, vedova ed erede in burgenfatici del suddetto D. Nicola Carafa Guzman.<\/p>\n<p>Il 31 di gennaio 1697 giunse direttamente dalla Spagna un ordine del Re Padrone Carlo II, indirizzato al vicer\u00e9. Il contenuto faceva chiarezza in materia di successione ed essendo re Carlo, di fatto, l\u2019ultimo proprietario legittimo di quei beni, decise di donare tutto a D. Maria Geltrude Baronessa di Volff di Gutteberg e Contessa di Berlips. Fu cos\u00ec che i feudi della Torre del Greco, Resina, Portici e Cremano per la somma annua di diecimila ottocento ducati, passarono nelle mani di un\u2019avida donna, che si trov\u00f2 a gestire una fortuna importante.
